Middle Special Education
Knox County Schools Middle School Special Education Staff provides support for students with special needs and ensures access into general education through collaboration with general education teachers, problem solving , support services, and direct instruction. The special education teachers work closely with general education teachers to assist with modification of general education curriculum to meet the needs of students. The services range from consultation, collaboration, inclusion and scientifically researched based instruction for skill development. The use of scientifically researched based instructional programs are designed to meet the needs of students and address students individual goal deficit needs in the implementation of the individualized education plan.
Congratulations to Amanda Picket who was one of four KCS teachers who was selected to be part of the 2017-18 Tennessee Educator Fellowship class.
The Tennessee Educator Fellowship, an initiative of the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE), is a year-long program that equips educators to advocate for their students and their profession as they continue teaching.
