School Announcements

    On Thursday, October 19th, the HVA Book Club will meet after school in the library.
    On Monday, October 23rd, the HVA Sign Language Club will meet after school in the library.
    Are you interested in trading cards? The HVA Card Trading Club is for you. We will meet in the atrium on Tuesdays until 4:30 p.m. Bring your Pokemon, Yu gi oh, magic cards to trade with others.
    Hardin Valley Players presents the classic Jane Austin novel "Pride & Prejudice" the show dates are October 20th -22nd. The Friday and Saturday night shows are at 7 p.m. and the Sunday show is at 3 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Hope you will join us for this fantastic show!
    Calling all photographers! Slip of the Pen Literary Magazine would like to announce its newest contest! From now until Oct. 27 send us your best black and white photograph.     The HVA Library is partnering with UT’s Life of the Mind and the Knox County Public Library’s “big read” to host a community coffeehouse and book discussion from this Thursday, October 19th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All students, their families, faculty and staff are welcomed to join the community for coffee, dessert, a book discussion and breakout room activities including discussions on pandemics, apocalyptic literature, and emergency preparedness.
    FAFSA Info Night, Tuesday, October 24, 6 p.m. in the HVA Auditorium. Representative from the state will be here to answer questions about completing the FAFSA.

    The Knoxville Youth Health Board will be collecting Coats for the Cold to provide winter coats, jackets, gloves, and hats to those in need. You may place donations, new or used, in the Coats for the Cold box located outside the front office. Please help us keep Knoxville warm this fall and winter. Thank you for your donations.
    Congats to Hawks Tennis Player Niketas Harrison for his USTA Fall League victory over Halls by a score of 8-3 and he is now 3-0 in USTA match play.
    Tryouts for the Boys HVA Basketball Team will be Monday, October 30th. Seniors, juniors, and sophomores will tryout from 5:45-6:45 p.m., with freshmen tryouts from 6:45-7:45p.m. All will need to bring a hard copy of his current physical, dated after April 15th, 2017, in order to participate. A tryout date will be set later for athletes currently involved in fall sports.
    HVA FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets this Friday, October, 20th in E102 at 8 o'clock! Anyone is welcome to join each Friday!
