Project Adam

East Tennessee Children's (ETCH) assist schools in implementing an emergency response team through education, training and materials. The goal is to provide public access to an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to prevent sudden cardiac arrest.
Vine Health Clinic
-
Founded in 1995, the Vine School Health Center is a full-service pediatric clinic located in the Langland Building in the back of Vine Middle Magnet School in Knoxville, Tennessee. The clinic is a joint cooperative between the University of Tennessee College of Nursing and the Knox County Schools Health Services Department. Its mission is to serve those students who have limited access to health care and improve the overall health and wellness of Knox County children.
Immunizations

The following immunizations are required before students will be admitted to Knox County Schools.
Preschool
- DTaP or DT
- Hepatitis B (HBV)
- Poliomyelitis (IPV or OPV)
- H.influenzae (HiB): age younger than 5 years only
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR)
- Pnuemococcal (PCV): age younger than 5 years only
- Hepatitis A
Kindergarten- DTaP or DT
- Polio (IPV or OPV): (final dose on or after the 4th birthday)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 doses of each, usually given together as MMR)
- Varicella (Chickenpox): 2 doses or history of disease
- Hepatitis B (HBV)
- Hepatitis A (2 doses)
7th Grade- Tetanus-diptheria-pertusis booster (Tdap)
- Verification of immunity to varicella (2 doses or history of disease)
New Students to KCS- DTaP or DT
- Hepatitis B (HBV)
- Polio (IPV or OPV): final dose on or after the 4th birthday
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella (Chickenpox): 2 doses or history of disease
Medical or Religious Exemptions- Children with medical exemptions must provide documentation from their medical provider.
- Religious exemptions require a signed statement by the parent/guardian that vaccination(s) conflict with their religious tenets or practices.

UT College of Nursing
The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is a nationally recognized leader in the education of highly-skilled, visionary nurses. The College of Nursing was established in July 1971 in response to a long-recognized and well-established need for nurses prepared at the collegiate level.
