Partners in Education (PIE)
The Partners in Education program is designed to create a close, working relationship between a community organization and a school or specific program within Knox County Schools. The purpose of this program is to enrich and expand the educational opportunities of Knox County students, while fostering a deeper understanding of the school system within the community.
Through the establishment of personal relationships between community leaders and educators, the goal of Partners in Education is to create a spirit of involvement that has a positive impact on Knox County. This involvement helps develop the local school environment into a powerful educational setting where community members are working actively with students.
Partners in Education encourages community leaders to take a greater interest in Knox County Schools. This program opens school doors to the community while providing an opportunity to better prepare students to succeed in an ever-changing world.
Knox County Schools seeks to partner with organizations that have a desire to contribute to the education of the 57,000 students across the district. Some areas of the community that are already participating include: businesses (both local and national), civic clubs, government agencies (federal, state and local), professional organizations, churches, organizations at colleges and universities and nonprofit agencies.
This list is not restrictive, however. Knox County Schools gladly welcomes any group of concerned community leaders who want to invest their time, talent and resources in students.
