The Knox County Board of Education has narrowed the list of superintendent candidates to two final candidates.
The Knox County Board of Education will host a community meet-and-greet with superintendent finalists for Knox County Schools on Tuesday, March 7, in the main auditorium at West High School (3300 Sutherland Ave.). Doors open at 5 p.m. The event will be televised live on KCS-TV and on knoxschools.org/kcstv
Each candidate will have about an hour to greet the public, give a short introduction and answer questions. The first candidate will start at 5:30 p.m., and the second candidate will start at 7 p.m.

Dale P. Lynch
is the Superintendent of Schools for Hamblen County in Morristown, Tenn. He’s been serving in that capacity since 2001. Prior to that he served as both Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent in Elizabethton and as an administrator, middle and high school teacher and coach in Washington County, Tenn.
has served as Assistant Superintendent for Knox County Schools since 1990. He currently oversees charter school applications, implementation of the new payroll system and assists with human resources cases. He previously directed the transportation, finance, human resources and facilities departments. Early in his career he taught at Bearden Junior High, Bearden High and Rule High School.
