In the last few days, I’ve had the privilege of attending graduation ceremonies for several KCS high schools.

It’s been inspiring to see students celebrate their achievements with the educators who have provided instruction and guidance, and with the family members who have supported them along the way.

Commencement is a powerful reminder that education is a team effort, whether your student is just starting kindergarten or is preparing for the next phase of their life.

As the 2022-23 school year draws to a close, I want to thank the entire Knox County community for your support.

It hasn’t always been easy, but the partners who come alongside our school communities make a tremendous difference every day.

I also want to remind students that there are many ways to continue learning – even during the break.

Whether you’re attending one of our Summer Learning Camps, exploring the natural world at a museum or park, or just reading a good book, it’s always a good time to sharpen your skills and knowledge.

Most importantly, I want to say thank you to our teachers, students, school staff, and families.

Knox County Schools is second to none, and your dedication makes all the difference – this year and every year.

On behalf of our entire district, I want to wish everyone a safe and restful summer, and we’ll look forward to seeing you next August!
