Knox County Schools in association with the Partners in Education presents the Barney Thompson Scholarship. A graduating senior from each Knox County high school with be selected to receive a one-time $500 scholarship.
The Barney Thompson Scholarship Program is named in honor of a former teacher and coach at South High School who impacted the lives of each student in his classroom and on his teams. He later served as Treasurer of the Partners in Education Advisory Board and was instrumental in connecting many organizations in our community to the schools he was so passionate about. Upon his death, the scholarship program was established by the PIE Advisory Board in his name.
This scholarship is open to graduating seniors from all 16 Knox County public high schools and one scholarship will be awarded at each high school.
All portions of the application must be completed by March 15, 2019
