• Basketball Game Guidelines

    In accordance with Gov. Lee’s Executive Order No. 74, issued on Jan. 19, 2021, and extending COVID-19 safety restrictions, Knox County Schools will limit those who are allowed to attend sporting events and activities. This order, which remains in effect through Feb. 27, 2021.

    Middle School Guidelines

    Capacity

    1. Players’ parents/guardians/grandparents and immediate household members.
    2. Gym bleachers will be marked off for seating to ensure social distancing.

     

    Participation

    Basketball Teams

    1. Home and Away – 12 players may dress. The visiting team should come dressed.
    2. Teams should physical distance on the sidelines. 
    3. Coaches and players who are not participating will be required to wear masks.
    4. Coaches that wear a face shield must also wear a mask. 


    Tickets

    1. Ticket prices will be $6
    2. Tickets will be pre-sold by each school.
    3. Tickets are refundable.

     

    Concessions

    1. Only pre-packaged foods will be made available. 
    2. Lines will be marked off for physical distance. 
    3. All concession workers will be required to wear masks and gloves. 

     

    Signage

    1. Appropriate signage will be posted per TSSAA, NFHS, and KCS. 

     

    RED Protocol

    1. If an individual school is RED, no extracurricular activities will be allowed at that school. 
    2. If the entire district is RED, no extracurricular activities will be allowed in the district. 

     

    Covid-19

    If conditions elevate in the community, KCS would make a determination on the status of fall sports. Please emphasize that all students, staff, and visitors need to follow the five, core preventative Covid-19 measures:

    • Physical distance 
    • Wear Face Masks 
    • Stay home when sick 
    • Clean and disinfect often 
    • Wash your hands

    1. Freshman and JV players will be allowed to play under the same regulations outlined for varsity.
