Program and Events
As part of the Communications department for the district, it manages several different programs. These programs provide additional services and benefits for students, teachers, and staff as well as the greater Knox County community.
The Knox County Schools Coupon Book
Knox County Schools Coupon Book Program was established in 1989 to provide discretionary funds for schools to meet needs identified by parents and teachers. The proceeds have become an important resource for improving technology and playgrounds in schools across the county.
Parent and community support have made Knox County Schools Coupon Book program the most successful program of its kind in the nation!
Each coupon book costs only $20.
Teacher of the Year
Each year teachers from every Knox County School are selected by their peers to receive the Teacher of the Year awards. Along with the school winners being recognized, three district winners, one from each grade band are also announced at a banquet held in February. Knox County has the best teachers and this is just a small way to recognize their hard work.
The KCS/PTA Clothing Center
The Knox County Schools/PTA Clothing Center offers a unique service to the students enrolled in our Knox County Schools - Preschool through 12th grade. For over 70 years, the purpose of the Clothing Center has been to provide clothing assistance for students so they may attend school on a daily basis. The Clothing Center is located in the Knox Central Building at the corner of Central Avenue and Baxter Avenue.
Teacher Supply Depot
The Teacher Supply Depot is a collection center and warehouse of donated new and used classroom materials provided free of charge for teachers, their assistants, and other school personnel in the Knox County Schools. The Depot is open four times each school year to provide educators with an opportunity to get materials and supplies for classroom needs.
