Reading and English/Language Arts Mission
In order to achieve “Excellence for Every Child,” the Reading and English/Language Arts Department will graduate students with skills in critical reading and effective communication, so they are college and career ready.
ELEMENTARY TEACHER LEADERS
KUDOS to the many teachers who have collaborated to support ELA teachers through the development of curriculum resources and professional development. Their work includes Curriculum Module Frameworks, CARE lessons, Advanced Word Study Lessons, Grammar and Writing PowerPoints, and a variety of activities and materials to support Elementary Literacy. Professional Development Sessions include Differentiation and Personalization, ELA Summer Academy, and the August 6 System-wide In-Service PD. Much appreciation to all who continuously work so hard to achieve excellence for every child in literacy.
