AVID C&I Update #19

A huge congratulations is extended to both Bearden Middle School and Northwest Middle School for obtaining the high honor of being in the inaugural class of "AVID School-wide Sites of Distinction," AVID's highest certification standard!

 

We would also like extend a congratulations to our graduating classes at Austin-East High School, Karns High School, and South Doyle High School.  We cannot wait to see all the amazing things our students will do in the future!

 

Below details the summer professional development opportunities that will be provided by the AVID department for teachers within the AVID schools who are interested in increasing their understanding of AVID strategies and practices.  All professional development will take place at Bearden Middle School in room 108.  Attendees need to enter the building from the Middlebrook Pike entrance.

Foundations in AVID is an introductory course for content teachers from AVID schools on the basic strategies and tenants of WICOR and the AVID program. Teachers can choose between two opportunities for learning:
