Shannondale Elementary School Community Celebrates Renovations

WHAT:
Ribbon cutting and celebration of renovations at Shannondale Elementary School

WHO:
Megan O’Dell, Principal of Shannondale Elementary School; Dr. Jim McIntyre, Superintendent of the Knox County Schools; Mike McMillan, Chair and District 8 Representative of the Knox County Board of Education; John Fugate, District 2 Representative of the Knox County Board of Education; Tracie Sanger, District 2 Representative-Elect of the Knox County Board of Education; and other special guests. Attendees are expected to include elected officials, community members, teachers, parents and students.

WHEN:
Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, 11:00 a.m.

WHERE:
Shannondale Elementary School new library/media center (5316 Shannondale Road)

ADDITIONAL:
This project includes the addition of 21,700 square feet to the existing 30,800 square-foot facility. The new addition includes 12 new classrooms, a new library/media center, a teachers’ work area, restrooms, a new elevator and additional cafeteria capacity. Technology upgrades are provided throughout and include interactive white boards in existing and new classrooms.
