TCAP Scores Available For Grades 3-12
Scores for individual students in Grades 3-12 are now available on a state website. These are available on the Tennessee Department of Education’s TCAP Family Portal, a free, online resource with valuable information including:
- TCAP scale scores and performance levels by subject;
- Test history features allowing families to track progress over time;
- Links to Parent Guides; and
- Next Step recommendations, including links to practice tests.
In order to access this resource, families must utilize their student’s TN Student ID. For detailed directions about how to navigate the process, please visit knoxschools.org/tcap.
Please note that students receive a performance score based on four categories: “Below Expectations,” “Approaching Expectations,” “Met Expectations,” and “Exceeded Expectations.” Students scoring in the top two performance categories – “Met Expectations” and “Exceeded Expectations” – are considered to be proficient for that content area.
These scores are an important resource to assess the academic progress of students, and families are encouraged to take advantage of this tool. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, our district is working hard to ensure that students are equipped with the foundational skills they need to achieve success.
