Community Meetings on Region 5 Strategic Plan

Recognizing that schools in Region 5 have faced persistent achievement gaps, Knox County Schools began a strategic planning process last fall to establish a clear and aligned mission to raise student expectations and transform outcomes.

Through a thorough review of Region 5 data and national education research, and the engagement of more than 200 stakeholders, the district developed region-specific goals, actions, and milestones to accelerate student learning and equip every student for a successful life after graduation.

“KCS has not always articulated a clear vision of success for its schools in Region 5,” Superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewyk said. “This strategic plan is our commitment to doing whatever it takes to ensure that our students excel in the district’s four priorities.”

KCS will hold four community meetings to provide an overview of the district’s Region 5 strategic plan. All meetings are open to the public and media.
