Jalin Hyatt, Academy Sports Host Teacher Shopping Spree
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, a former football star from the University of Tennessee hosted a shopping spree at Academy Sports + Outdoors on Monday!
Jalin Hyatt, a wide receiver for the New York Giants and the son of a teacher, provided $500 each to five KCS teachers, who used the money to buy athletic gear for their schools. He also donated $1,000 to Dutch Fork High School, his alma mater in Irmo, S.C.
In an interview, Hyatt said his efforts to give back to teachers reflect the values instilled by his parents, and his appreciation for Knoxville. “Just a lot of good people here in Knoxville, and I really think this is like my second home.”
Thank you to Jalin and Academy Sports for your support!
