New State Law Adjusts High-School Grading Scale
Due to a change in State law, Knox County Schools will move to a 10-point grading scale for high school students, beginning in the 2022-23 school year. The new grading scale for Grades 9-12 will be as follows:
- 90 to 100 = A
- 80 to 89 = B
- 70 to 79 = C
- 60 to 69 = D
While this decision was made by state lawmakers and not by our district, we are hopeful that it will help our students pursue financial aid for college and ensure that they are not at a disadvantage compared with students from other states.
We would encourage families to use the Aspen Family Portal to stay informed about their student’s academic performance, and to stay in contact with their teacher if you have any questions.
