• Employee Bulletin Board Guidelines

Keep your article short - very, very short. It is very difficult to scroll through large collections of large stories. Your article should include all necessary information but be as concise as possible.  Remember you can also link to existing pages or documents.

    What this does:

    1. Shorter entries make easier reading
    2. The links provide more information PLUS pulls visitors to your site where they may discover a wealth of information and resources that you have provided. In the case of schools, it brings attention to your activities and site.

    Deadlines:

There are no deadlines on the Bulletin Board. The Public Affairs office guarantees that the information will be posted on the Bulletin Board within 24-48 hours after it is received via the submit process. Be sure to include your contact information in case we need to get more information or want to expand the story into a larger market.

Articles and links will not live forever on the Bulletin Board

If you have a full year's of activities scheduled, don't try to post them all at once and expect them to stay year round. Suggestion: Feature only the events that fall within a 1-2 week window in the 'short' submission, then link back to the full schedule. This way, you can promote individual events.

    No need to send documents

There is no need to send documents to the Bulletin Board. Just fill in the brief information on the submit form and link to the additional information. Large lists of winners, for example, can be a download of a pdf or word document from your site.
