The Knox County Board of Education will be hiring a new leader to assume the role of Superintendent of Schools. A key part of this process has been to provide everyone an opportunity to be heard. Dr. Tammy Grissom, Executive Director of the Tennessee School Boards Association, recently led a process to gather community input and views about the issues and challenges facing our school system and community. Addtionally, stakeholders were encouraged to share their thoughts in an online survey, which closed on Dec. 3, 2021.
To provide everyone with an opportunity to be heard, a series of 1-hour meetings were held on Dec. 2, 2021 in the boardroom on the first floor of the Andrew Johnson Building, 912 S. Gay Street. These were suggested times and interested individuals could go to any of the meetings. The luncheon was for invited guests; however, the public was welcome to attend.10:00 a.m.Classified Employees11:30 a.m.Public Officials / Community Leaders Luncheon (Crowne Plaza, 401 W.
