TRANSPORTATION SAFETY SECTION
The Transportation Safety Section is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a wide variety of transportation initiatives relating to compliance of safety mandates issued by the Knox County Schools Transportation Department, federal, state, and local laws. Mandates could include: OSHA regulations, CDL guidelines and other school bus related issues pertaining to safety.
Under the direction of Gus Paidousis, Chief of Security, we have implemented a variety of safety related measures related to school bus transportation. These include a school bus safety check ride program, school bus camera functionality checks, bus driver’s warning citations, school bus emergency evacuation drills, manual traffic control procedures for officers with take-home vehicles, and respond to school bus accidents involving children.
The Transportation Safety Section focuses on the protection and safety of our children and staff.
