Canon R600 Camera
$200 to $290
There may be other video camera models that will work with the Extron unit. But the Canon R600 has been tested and is known to work. We have also tested the Sony CX-405 and found that it does NOT work with the Extron unit.
$59 to $149
There are a number of manufactures of tripods from which you can choose. You can typically get one in the $59 to $149 price range that is sturdy enough for a school TV studio.
Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable
$15 to $25
It's recommended that the length of this cable be 15 feet or less due to single loss. Some sources say you may be able to use cables up to 25 feet, but the length can vary due to different cameras output strength. We recommend staying with 15 feet. But we have information of the TV Studio Multiple Cameras page if 15 feet does not work in your situation.
64 GB Memory Card
$20 to $28
You will most likely want to purchase at least one memory card for the video camera. This will allow you to use the camera to record events around the school.
As you can see, you should expect to pay approximately $295 to $500 to connect one video camera to your Extron unit. Contact John Dendrinos (firstname.lastname@example.org
) for help locating the best places to purchase your equipment.
It is possible to connect a second camera to the Extron unit if you have the budget to do so. However, the Extron will only allow a simple cut from one camera to the other. There are no fancy transitions from which to pick.
