• October 2021 Quarterly Meeting

    The KCS Alliance For Educational Equity Steering Committee (formerly the DEO Steering Committee) will host a public quarterly meeting at Central High School on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The meeting agenda is available at this link, and two or more board members may be present.

    This meeting will include a Public Forum session, which will be limited to 10 speakers. For more information about Public Forum or to sign up as a speaker, please visit this link. The deadline to sign up for Public Forum is 4 p.m. on Monday, October 25. The Alliance requests Public Forum comments address topics related to the KCS Equity Statement.

  • Steering Committee Members

    The Disparities in Educational Outcomes’ Steering Committee is made up of members of the original Task Force as well as other community, governmental and educational leaders. Its charge is to:

    • Review progress, discuss issues and refine efforts
    • Identify and include additional stakeholder perspectives and expertise to include subcommittee working groups
    • Evaluate outcomes and ensure public accountability and transparency
    • Regularly solicit input from the community, follow up on concerns and communicate frequently with Knox County Schools leadership to address issues.
