ACADEMIC Recommendations for next Year:
Teachers have completed academic recommendations for our current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The district has published new guidelines for honors recommendations which include students performing at "Met" or "Exceeds Expectations" on the previous year's State Tests as well as an 80% or higher in the class.
8th grade students, if you disagree with a teacher's recommendation, parents will need to complete an academic release for your student's zoned high school. More information will come this week for their academic releases as high schools are visiting BMS to start the 9th grade registration process.Current 6th and 7th grade students, if you disagree with the academic teacher's recommendation, please complete the BMS academic release by clicking here. The Academic Release must be completed online for administration to consider your request. Please remember that a completed academic release does not guarantee your student will be placed in a different academic level. If you have any questions, please email your grade level counselor.6th grade - Jimmy.cannington@knoxschools.org
7th grade - ruth.neubertdyer@knoxschools.org
8th grade - marianne.lesler@knoxschools.orgAlso -February 21st - Bearden High School will be visiting BMS to start the registration process for students zoned for BHS. I look forward to seeing everybody tomorrow! Have a great evening,

Why Become a Member of PTA? $6 of your $10 membership helps fund items the school's budget doesn't cover. Joining the PTA does not obligate you to volunteer or attend meetings, although we hope you will join us as your schedule allows! Simply include your membership dues of $10 with the PTA Membership form (download below, or get a copy in the Main Office). $6 of that stays here at BMS to help support our many activities and initiatives; the remaining $4 goes to local, state, and national dues to support child-advocacy initiatives.
Why suppport the Enrichment Fund? Any additional funds over $10 go to our Enrichment Fund, which supports funding gaps for technology, devices, books, programs, etc. Please consider an enrichment member...when you do, 100% of your gift stays at BMS! To give, please contact Tracey Linardo today.
