Basketball Tryout Information (Information will be updated as needed)

Boys' basketball tryouts have been postponed until October 19th.

    More information to come....

Please look at the tryout schedule by grade level.  If your student has a tryout beginning at 5:15, he can either go home then arrive back at the school by 5:15 or stay after school.  If he is staying after school, he needs to wait in his 6th period class until 3:45 and then report to the commons.  Make sure your student has a ride ready to pick him up as soon as tryouts are completed for the day/evening.  Tryouts are closed to everyone accept players and coaches.

A reminder that a student needs to have a minimum 2.0 (C) GPA in order to be an eligible candidate for the team.

We have recently been given information with regards to starting dates, etc. for the start of basketball.  Tryouts for the Bearden Middle Boys Basketball Team will begin on Monday September 28th.  You must have a completed physical form (filled out by a physician) dated after April 15th, 2020 and completed concussion and cardiac arrest information forms in order to tryout. Forms need to be turned in by Friday September 25th.  Links to all necessary forms (including the updated Knox County Physical Form) are on this page.

The first days of tryouts will be by grade level this year:

    6th Grade: Monday September 28th: 5:15-7:00

    8th Grade: Tuesday September 29th: 3:45-5:30

    7th Grade: Wednesday September 30th: 5:15-7:00

Times could be subject to change depending on various factors. A cut will be made after the first days of tryouts are completed.  Tryouts will continue for those who make it past the cut.

Players will need to bring masks to wear whenever they are not on the court.  Social distancing will also be enforced when players are not on the court.

In the past, Well Key Urgent Care on Clinton Highway (in addition to CVS and Walgreen’s Clinics) have offered sports physicals on a walk-in basis (charges vary).
