Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to the start of a new school year with your child at Bearden Middle School!
As you may be aware, Knox County Schools has a bold vision of providing excellence for every child and becoming the best school system in the South.
Our passion for high-level student learning continues to drive all of our work, but it is necessary to assess a school fee to help us meet the goal of ensuring that our students are academically successful, college and career ready, economically competitive and personally fulfilled. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing the best education to all our students, but we cannot do it without you.
The standard Knox County Middle School Fee for the 2018-2019 school year is $35. The fee will be allocated in the following manner:
- Technology/School Materials Fee: $20
(Technology and non-consumable materials and equipment, calculators and batteries, etc.)
- Instructional Support Fee: $15
(Publications and other consumable materials to support class work in all subjects)
- Total: $35
Your contribution will go a long way toward helping our school cover the cost of technology and school materials as well as provide additional instructional support. No other fee will be charged for core subjects.
Student-elected classes, activities and clubs such as high school credit-bearing courses, band, chorus, year-long art, basketball, TSA, cheerleading and dance may require additional fees since they are non-mandatory electives.
Once school starts, please pay your fee money online at https://osp.osmsinc.com/KnoxTN/ or send in your fee money to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible. If you are unable to pay, please don’t hesitate to contact my office to discuss your situation.
Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter. We truly appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Michael Toth
Principal
