My name is Michael Toth and I’m honored to join the staff of BMS as the new Principal. I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. I believe the success of a child in school relies on a partnership between the school, family and student. I know that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.
Before joining BMS, I began my education career in 2003 as a teacher at Green Magnet Math and Science Academy where I served for 7 years before accepting a position as assistant principal at Karns High School in 2010. I have served as an assistant principal of Halls High School and administrator for the North Knox Career and Technical Education Center for the last 4 years. My academic background includes an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Educational Administration and Supervision, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Michigan State University.
I believe that a great school is the result of great teachers, so one of my objectives is to ensure that every student receives high-quality instruction from every teacher at BMS. We will reach out to you for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are prepared for high school, college and 21st century careers.
I will work closely with our Assistant Principals, Mr. Bailey, Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Woodby to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to students during the middle school years. I encourage you to get involved with the Parent Teacher Association to ensure that your voices are heard, and to be actively engaged with any club or activity in which your child is involved. You can email me directly at email@example.com.
I will communicate a date with you for a "Meet the Principal" night and look forward to partnering with you in your child's education.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. Feel free to share this with parents of incoming 6th graders as I have no means to communicate with them at this time. I have also posted the letter on the school's website.
