    GPA

    GPA is the cumulative average of your semester grades for each class. It is recalculated after each full semester (not summer).  GPA is important.  It is one of the first things college admissions officers and possible employers look at.  Your grades tell a lot about you as a person.  High grades typically indicate that you are a hard worker and responsible.  Knox County Schools reports a weighted and non-weighted GPA on your transcript; the non-weighted GPA is used to qualify for the Hope Scholarship.

    Calculate your Non-Weighted GPA.

    A=4 (How many do you have?)  _____  x  4 =  ______   points

    B=3 (How many do you have? ) _____  x  3 =  ______   points

    C=2 (How many do you have? ) _____  x  2 =  ______   points

    D=1 (How many do you have? ) _____  x  1 =  ______   points

    F=0 (How many do you have? )  _____  x  0 =  ______  points

    Add the points together to get your total points _________.

    Divide total points by the number of classes written above.

    My GPA is ________________.
