    BIG Scholarship Award

    BIG functions as a professional development association, an advocacy organization, an employee support group, and to provide community service. BIG’s goals essentially are to promote EQUITY in all aspects of American life, EXCELLENCE in public service, and OPPORTUNITY for all Americans. The Chapter’s mission is to assist and support BIG in achieving and retaining its status of excellence in the public and community sector. This mission will be achieved by maintaining effective communication in the black community on available scholarships to encourage students to continue their education.

    The purpose of thes scholarship is to promote an encourage local high school seniors to pursue higher education. In general, all applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for financial assistance:

    ~ Must be a U.S. citizen
    ~Must be registered with Selective Service (if applicable)
    ~Must be a resident of Knoxville/Anderson or Roane County

    There are two types of financial assistance: Academic Excellence Scholarship and Financial Need Scholarship. Students are allowed to apply to only one category. 


    *Scholarship application can be found in the College & Career Center.

    All Entries must be postmarked or emailed by April 10, 2020 and mailed to:
