    Services:

    Safe Haven Center offers free services to any individual who has been affected directly or indirectly by sexual assault/abuse. Safe Haven Center serves 15 counties; Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington. Services provided vary by county and can include:

     

    • Crisis counseling
    • Individual therapy
    • Classes & groups
    • Hospital accompaniments
    • Court accompaniments
    • Referrals
    • Community education/presentations

     

    • Forensic nursing*

     

    * Safe Haven Center also employs specialized nurses who are trained in performing exams on sexual assault victims between the ages of 13 and 17 years old. If the victim is a juvenile and lives in Knox County, and the assault falls within the Department of Children’s Services criteria then SHC will perform those rape kits. The nurses also provide STD prophylaxis and emergency contraceptive medications. In addition, SHC performs exams on adults at some local hospitals and always at the SHC.

    Services:

    VOCA provides therapeutic and support services to teens that have been sexually or physically abused and are dealing with the trauma associated with that crime. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM
