A Man’s Voice

Great Starts
Pregnant women who need help to become drug-free have access to supervised living, transportation, sober recreation, assistance with clothing, food and parenting skills. An entire range of programs are available to them and their children. The Nursery is designed to bring each child up to their potential. Program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Length of enrollment in program varies from 6 months to a year.
Journey
An Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents who are struggling with addiction. Program meets from 4:00PM – 7:00PM three days a week. This program design is to assist youth facing similar challenges and learning new ways to cope with the life challenges they face. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:30AM – 5:00PM
New Beginnings

Residential Program for Adolescents
An Intensive residential program with 1 male facility in Knox County and 1 male/ 1 female facility in Blount County. This program serves children ages 12 years to 18 years old. Voice of a Woman
An Intensive Outpatient Program offering hope to women who are affected by chemical addiction for 16 weeks. Education and support that are designed to address the unique needs of women are provided in a safe and respectful environment in group, individual, and family meetings. Square One
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a ground-breaking substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation program for adolescents ages 13 to 18. Youth Summit of Recovery
This program is designed to provide intensive evidence-based alcohol and drug treatment to adolescents, both genders ages 13 – 17. The residential program uses a structured seven-day a week therapeutic environment to achieve rehabilitation. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM

CenterPointe includes adult residential rehabilitation, outpatient care, and medical detoxification. The needs of the dually diagnosed (co-occurrence of chemical dependency and mental illness) and of individuals with gambling problems are also addressed within these programs. Center Pointe – Detoxification Center
The Detoxification Center is a medical detoxification program that serves adults over the age of 18 who are intoxicated or who are experiencing the adverse effects of withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs. Treatment is delivered in a medical treatment mode and usually lasts 5 to 12 days. Referrals may be made by hospitals, social service agencies, private physicians, treatment facilities, courts, family members or self-referrals.
Gateway
The Gateway Center is a residential substance abuse treatment program for adolescent males ages 13 to 18. Treatment involves a holistic approach to recovery and utilizes individual, group, and family counseling, alcohol and drug education classes, recreation, adventure-based counseling, therapeutic outings, and aftercare. Individualized treatment plans take into consideration the differences in adolescents' learning styles and developmental and social needs. Participation in the program is generally three to four months, and family involvement is a key element. Program Hours: 24 Hours; 7 Days a Week
In Home Treatment
The In-Home Treatment Program serves TennCare recipients ages 13 to 21 who have a co-occurring diagnosis of substance abuse and mental illness or mental retardation/developmental disabilities. Clients must live in Knox or one of 16 surrounding counties. Services include assessment, individual and family counseling, case management, alcohol and drug treatment and education, help with problem solving, conflict resolution and development of support and relapse prevention plans. Intensive Outpatient Programs
The Intensive Outpatient Programs offer gender-specific counseling sessions for chemically dependent adults. Each program provides 12 hours of structured programming per week that includes group therapy and substance abuse education. The average length of participation is six to 12 weeks. The programs also address other issues, such as family/relationship conflict, spirituality, domestic violence, co-dependency and social and legal problems. Referrals may be made by hospitals, social service agencies, private physicians, other treatment facilities, courts, family members or self-referral. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Redirection
Re-Directions is a highly structured after-school program for teens youth ages 14 to 18 that have substance abuse problems. The Re-Directions program meets three hours daily, four days a week for six to ten weeks. Family participation is encouraged. Clients learn and practice skills in communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution and refusal techniques in response to peer pressure through individual and group counseling sessions.

Residential Rehabilitation
The Residential Rehabilitation program is a 21 to 28 day therapeutic program for chemically addicted adults. This level of care is designed to address significant problems with living skills. The goals of treatment are to maintain abstinence and prevent relapse. It also promotes personal responsibility and positive character change. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Supported Intensive System of Treatment Empowerment Recovery (Sisters of The Rainbow)
SISTERS, located in the Western Heights housing development, are an intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program for adult women who live in Knox County. It attempts to overcome the barriers many women face in coming to treatment by providing transportation within a ten mile radius of the program. The goal of SISTES is to break the cycle of addiction, welfare, and poverty and to promote self-sufficiency. Program participation is about 1 year in length; must be 18 years of age. Women's Community Liaison
The Women's Community Liaison serves women age 18 and older who are residents of Knox County and need substance abuse services. Services include assessment, referral, and links with other services and help with transportation, child care and daily living needs. The program is especially beneficial to women with complex issues who need help navigating multiple systems. Adult Residential Program
Midway is a comprehensive extended care program offering a highly structured living environment for individuals re-entering the main stream of society. Residents progress through a Level System by completing course work and maintaining appropriate behavior. Evaluation of vocational, medical, behavioral and emotional needs provide the basis for treatment planning. Cost of the program is determined by the individual’s income or the referral source’s fee schedule in effect at the time of referral. All fees are approved annually by the Board of Directors. Out-Patient Program
Midway Out-Patient program offers a variety of different programs depending on the need of the client. Peninsula Hospital

Recovery Education Center
Peninsula Recovery Education Center (REC) is a place where people who struggle with mental illness develop their own programs to enhance and support their recovery. The REC, a part of Peninsula Outpatient Services, provides a place for learning and support with students and trained staff. Sessions are eight weeks. Classes meet five days a week, 9 a.m. – 3 .p.m. Snacks and lunch are provided.

Veterans Service Program
Our GPDO (Grant Per Diem Only) Homeless Program is licensed by the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities as a supportive living facility. This program is a collaborative effort between Steps House and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and is designed to help end the cycle of homelessness among our nations Veterans. Steps Program utilizes a multitude of services within the VA as well as community based services in order to provide a holistic, comprehensive approach to addressing each veteran’s problems.
