    Americorps is a national service program of working volunteers who commit to a year of service building communities and solving problems. Open to 17 years old and older. Members earn a monthly stipend, health insurance, and an educational award for tuition and/or student loan repayments.     Job Corp is a job training and education program offered to young adults ages 16 through 24 who qualify. While enrolled, Job Corps will provide your meals, books, tools, uniforms, basic health care and a place to live. Job Corps provides the opportunity to earn a high school diploma or GED and offers training and certification in a variety of career technical training areas.     The Youth Program provides services to economically disadvantaged adolescents and young adults who are either in-school but at-risk for dropping out or for those who have already dropped out but would like to improve their work and educational situation. Case managers assess the individual needs and assist in providing resources to meet those needs. Focus is on improvement in work opportunities with workshops on work related topics, simulated work experience, paid internships and work experience.     Knox Christian Men’s Job Corps exist to provide a Christian context in which men in need are equipped for life and employment; and a mission context in which men help men. Each Student is individually matched with a trained mentor, attends a series of Life Management, Personal Development and Job Readiness classes. Each student receives weekly training in how to build a life on a Christian foundation. Each cycle of classes lasts for 14 weeks. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.

    The Knox County Seamless Transition Project is a community integration service that assists individuals with developmental disabilities to become fully included members of their community. This is done by navigating and creating networks of support with business and community members, in order to facilitate personalized job placements and equal access to community resources. Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00AM- 4:30PM



    This Adult Education Center provides GED preparation, literacy level and basic skills upgrade in reading, math and grammar basic computer skills, and English for speakers of other languages. Anyone, ages 17 and older, interested in improving their academic skills are invited to participate. A non-traditional classroom approach incorporating life and work skills with academics is used. Morning, afternoon and evening classes are offered. Hours: Monday- Friday from 8:00AM- 4:30PM
