    • There is no school on Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  
    • Congratulations to our Spelling Bee winner, Miranda Beverly, and to our runner-up Luke Zimmerman!  
    • Funtastic Field Day: The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department, the University of Tennessee Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sports Studies, and Farragut Primary School will host a Funtastic Field Day for PreK-12 students on March 1 from 2-5 p.m. at Farragut Primary. This event is for students with and without disabilities so everyone can participate together. Students from UT will provide field day events in an inclusive environment. Families can use adaptive equipment and participate in activities, and food trucks will be available for lunch.
    • PTO Highlights:
      • Thank you to all that gave to our Mitten Drive! The weather is warm now, but will get cold again soon and those needing mittens will be very grateful. 
      • Mark your calendars!
        • Wednesday, January 29th @ 7:00 am in the Library is the Reflection's Breakfast. We will recognize all the talented artists who participated in Reflection's Art. Art will be on display and we will announce our artists who received top marks from our judges. Parents are welcome to attend. Look for your invitation in your child's folder! 
        • Friday, January 31st is our next All Pro Dad! 
        • Tuesday, February 11th - Hawk Walk VOLUNTEER Meeting 
        • Friday, February 14th - Box Top Collection
        • Tuesday, February 18th & Wednesday, February 19th - Spring Enrichment Class sign up. Be on the look out for more information regarding classes mid February. Classes will be available for students K - 5.

    • Welcome back!  We are in the full swing of 2nd semester!  
    • Report cards are coming home today with your child.  
    • A friendly reminder to help make drop off in the mornings more efficient, please have your child ready to exit the car when you pull up to the cone. Students should have backpacks on, goodbye hugs and kisses given and any other materials in hands prior to pulling up to the cone.  This makes the drop off line run smoothly and quickly.  
    • Our Spelling Bee for 3rd-5th grade students is Friday, January 17th at 8:30 in the gym.

      • Monday, January 13th - Friday, January 17th will be our Mitten Drive. Please bring in gently used or new mittens. More information about the Mitten Drive will be sent home in your child's folder.

      • Get excited for Hawk Walk! Hawk Walk will be on Friday, March 13th. What is Hawk Walk? Hawk Walk is our Healthy Fundraiser where students raise money by getting donations for our school. 100% of the proceeds go towards HVES. Students celebrate at the end of the week by walking, running, dancing, skipping, and having FUN around the back parking lot. If you are interested and want to volunteer for this FUN event join us on Tuesday, February 11th @ 9:30 am at Maple Street.
