The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921 and 1929.

Membership in the Halls Middle School Chapter of the NJHS is open to all eligible 7th and 8th Grade students. Students who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater in 6th grade and the first semester of 7th grade and are seeking membership need to obtain an application packet during the membership drive which will occur at the beginning of spring semester of their 7th grade year. Students interested in pursuing membership must also meet certain criteria in the areas of leadership, service, character and citizenship. Students must complete the selection process in order to be considered for membership.

Please email Mrs. Miller, the chapter adviser, at kathleen.miller@knoxschools.org if you need additional information on membership.
