Classroom Guidance Lessons
I am currently teaching in the ENCORE rotation on Thursday's and Friday's. Classroom lessons allow us to discuss and learn about a range of topics including: conflict resolution, goal setting, personal safety, health, stress management, identifying feelings, and character education.
Small groups are offered throughout the year on a variety of topics including: self esteem, friendship, conflict resolution, divorce, and more.

10/16- "Attention Please-Helping your child focus!" Join us for a workshop with school psychologist, Julia Houston, and school counselor, Laura Filtness, as we learn tips and tricks for helping your student stay focused in class. This is a special workshop for ADHD awareness month.
10/30- "Bullying Prevention" - This is a special workshop for bullying prevention month. We we learn more about what bullying is and isn't, how to prevent bullying, and more about cyber safety.
11/6- "Who Can Help Me?" Join us for a workshop with school psychologist, Julia Houston, and school counselor, Laura Filtness, as we learn all about the different Student Support Services offered at A L Lotts.
1/22- "School Success"- Join Mrs. Donohoe, school social worker, and Ms. Filtness, school counselor, for a workshop on how you can help your student achieve at school by encourage good attendance habits.
2/12- "You've Got This!"- This workshop with Ms. Filtness will focus on boosting students self esteem, encouraging a positive growth mindset, and helping reduce stress.
4/9- "Supporting students with Autism." Join us for a workshop with school psychologist, Julia Houston as we learn tips and tricks for students on the spectrum be successful at home and school. This is a special workshop for Autism awareness month.
Consultation and Individual Students
Of course, I am available throughout the year to consult with parents and work with individual students as needed. Parents can email or call me directly to talk about their student or schedule a meeting.
H.A.B.I.T- Human Animal Bond in Tennessee
We are excited to be partnered with the UTK H.A.B.I.T. Reading Paws program to help improve student literacy and self esteem.
