- Community School: No child attending Dogwood Elementary School should miss out on learning because they come to school hungry, needing glasses or experiencing stress at home. Our Community Schools strategy engages communities and families to intentionally recruit and leverage resources to break down the barriers that get in the way of student learning.
- 21st Century Grant: Our school has secured a 21st Century grant that provides funds to help us establish an after-school program that acts as a trusted neighborhood center while providing both enrichment and academic classes.
- Dogwood Urban Trail: We are proud to have an urban trail that we share with the community. This trail features an observation deck and an outdoor classroom. - Environment: Our school takes great pride in fostering a school climate and environment like none other. Our school has custom murals and street art that set it apart from all others. Our coolest teachers spend extra time planning highly motivating lessons that incorporate engage students through such means as room transformations, costumes, advanced technology and incentive days. Watch out on April Fool's Day!
- Leadership: Students are expected to exhibit leadership by following our Dolphin Decree. This decree includes 25 expectations such as saying thank you, encouraging others and maintaining eye contact. Opportunities to develop leadership are offered as a part of our core curriculum, but also extracurricular activities as available through House Leadership, Chant Leaders, Ambassadors, and Safety Patrol.
