Career Magnet Academy was established in 2014 as a Knox County magnet high school. We partner with Pellissippi State Community College on the Strawberry Plains campus to provide our students the opportunity to make significant progress towards an associate degree while they are still in high school. CMA allows equal access to dual enrollment courses at PSCC to students who may not have access to as many dual enrollment courses at their zoned schools and at no cost to their families other than a small portion of the Hope scholarship. Some of our more ambitious students even graduate highs schools with a full associates degree from PSCC!
Because no KCS students are zoned for CMA, every family who wishes to join the Wolf Pack must fill out a transfer application once the transfer period has begun, usually the week following Fall Break. Once the transfer period has begun, online applications can be found at www.transapp.knoxschools.org We accept 125 Knox County high school freshmen each year. Older students are considered for acceptance on a case-by-case basis.
