Doug James, Dean of Students CMA

Doug James has worked for Knox County Schools for 12 years. He was originally the theatre teacher at Austin East for 10 years where his students were State Champions for five years and also second in the nation.  He has served as a Lead Teacher and Evaluator, on the Knox County Teacher Advisory Council, and on numerous committees. He was also a facilitator for the TN State Standards rollout.  He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Maryville College in the Education Department and received his EdD in Administrative Leadership last Spring from Carson-Newman. He also acts, directs, and choreographs in community theaters all over Knoxville and Maryville. Recently, he was named President-Elect of the Tennessee Theatre Association.
