Magnet Schools of America defines magnet schools thusly:
Magnet schools are built on the foundation of five pillars and are free public elementary and secondary schools of choice that are operated by school districts or a consortium of districts. Magnet schools have a focused theme and aligned curricula . . .

At CMA, our overall magnet theme falls under the umbrella of "Diploma +" because it is our goal for each of our students to graduate high school having also earned some type of post-secondary credit or certification.
While attendance at CMA is limited to Knox County families, no students are zoned for our school. In order to attend CMA, families must submit a transfer application between October and February (see the "Apply Now" link under "General Information") or click here.
