  • Welcome to the Homepage of Bearden Bulldog baseball.  Bearden has been playing baseball since 1947, and it has a rich tradition of success.  Phil Garner, for whom our park is named, is a 1967 BHS graduate who played three seasons for the Tennessee Vols, was a two-time All-SEC player, and earned honorable mention honors in 1970. Garner was Oakland’s top pick in the MLB supplemental draft, and didn’t make his fulltime debut in the big leagues until 1975. His playing career ended with the San Francisco Giants in 1988.

In 2014, Bearden's baseball facilities underwent a major upgrade.  With the help of a very gracious Jim Bruner, former Bulldog baseball and football alum, Bearden constructed a brand new, state-of-the-art press and concessions facility, new bleachers and seating area, and a concourse unlike any other in high school baseball.  During this process, Bearden also added a new five-cage hitting facility attached to the right field fence, and a lifting facility in what was the old indoor.  These renovations have made Phil Garner Ballpark one of the finest high school facilities in the state.
