    Potential Club Member,

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Carter Middle School FCA Club! Obviously, you are interested in being in this club so, let me tell you a little bit about our vision for this club and what is expected of club members.

First and foremost our main focus in this club is to give all of the glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in all that we do. We are going to glorify His name and rejoice in Him and be leaders in the school and in the community. Being a student-athlete comes with so many things attached to it. 1) You are viewed as a leader in the school. Your classmates look up to you and you are automatically held to a higher standard than everyone else. It is our job as athletes to set the right example and be the ones that lead and do what is right and best for our school. 2) Do the RIGHT thing! As members of this club and as leaders in the school, it is our job to set the right example and hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions. Being in a club or playing a sport does not make you better than anyone else, it brings on a load of responsibility that you should hold up and you should do the right thing at all times, even when no one is watching. 3) Stay humble. Your athletic and academic abilities and talents are something that you are blessed with, and you should not brag or boast about being better than anyone. We are all made in the image of God, and He gives us those talents and abilities, so it is important that we recognize that and give Him the glory.

Secondly, our club will have officers that will be voted on and elected by club members. We will have a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and a Secretary. These elected officers will lead our meetings and will be supervised by our club sponsor(s). They will carry out all of the duties of our meetings and will take part in planning each one as well. We will also be doing different things out in the community after school hours, having guest speakers, 5th quarters after basketball games, and much more. We meet every Tuesday in my classroom at 7:45 am!

I would like to invite you to come and check us out next year and be a part of a growing club at CMS!  We are excited to get another year of FCA going here at CMS! If you have any additional questions please stop by my room anytime and ask! Go Hornets!
