NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

  • National Honor Society serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Note: You or your parents might receive an invitation to join an organization called the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)- this is NOT the same as the National Honor Society, and is NOT affiliated with our school. NSHSS works with "educational organizations" to locate students, but neither HVA nor Knox County Schools are educational organizations that work with NSHSS or provide any information to that organization.

The NHS New Member Ceremony is Tuesday, March 22; it begins at 6:00 p.m. and new inductees should be here at 5:30 p.m. You will be seated in the auditorium in alphabetical order. NOTE- this is a date change from the original schedule (which was March 31).

Remind App for Info

  •

    For members:

NHS uses the REMIND app to send out information. To receive updates, text @nhshva2021 to 81010.

If you are not receiving reminds, email Mrs. Graham (anna.graham@Knoxschools.org) with your name and email address that you check. You will then receive an invitation via email to the remind app for the National Honor Society.

  • NOTE: Membership in the National Junior Honor Society (from middle school) does not transfer to high school National Honor Society.

Membership in National Honor Society is open to high school juniors and seniors (with specific GPA requirements) for initial consideration. Please note: Membership for the 2021-2022 school year is closed.
