2019 National Blue Ribbon School

Sequoyah Elementary School Administration and Knox County Schools are proud to share that Sequoyah Elementary School has been designated as a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School as Exemplary High Performing.  This prestigious designation is awarded by the U.S. Department of Education.  The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes outstanding K-12 public and non-public schools. In identifying several hundred outstanding schools annually, the program celebrates school excellence, turn around stories, and closing subgroup achievement gaps.  The award is both a high aspiration and a potent resource of practitioner knowledge.  Sequoyah Elementary is only one of six schools in the State of Tennessee to receive this designation for the 2019 school year.
