Greetings Northwest Middle School Community,
It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of Northwest Middle School. We have a tradition of excellence at Northwest, and we will continue to work together to reach new heights. I look forward to an outstanding 2017-2018 school year. Our theme for the entire NMS community includes three areas of focus as we strive for continued excellence:

I have included a brief overview of my accomplishments:
Mr. Baldwin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. He taught PT and Math in K-8 schools in Fort Worth, Texas for six years. During his time teaching he served as a basketball and baseball coach.
In September of 2001, he and his family went to work for the Methodist Children's Home in Little Rock, AR. During which time he served as a teaching parent in group homes and teacher in a sresidential facility for at-risk youth.
In 2008, he completed his Master of Science in Special Education from the University of Tennessee. He worked as a special education teacher at Clinton High School (2 years) and Fulton High School until 2012 until promoted to Assistant Principal at South-Doyle High School for the next five years.
During his time at South-Doyle High he made significant strides in student achievement, utilization of 1:1 technology, implementation of Positive Behavior Support and Restorative Practices and development of a strong (first of its kind in Tennessee) mentoring partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor 2.0 program.
In July 2011, he earned his EDs degree in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University and has advanced his beginning administrators licesnse to a Professional Administrators License with the state of Tennessee.
In June 2017, Mr Baldwin was appointed as the Principal of Northwest Middle School. Under Mr. Baldwin's initial leadership, Northwest MIddle School has begun the implementation of Restorative Practices school-wide and put in place a grade levels into smaller learning communities to provide stronger support for students and teachers. His continued focus on cutting edge technology has given teachers the opportunity to create more individualized learning for students. He continues to work with the Community Schools partnership to improve the school culture and community while supporting excellence in academics through school-wide use of AVID strategies in the classroom. The entire NMS school community continues to perform and grow in areas of Academics, Athletics and the Arts. Mr. Baldwin is married to Lisa and has two daughters in high school and a son who attends Northwest.
