Karns High School started its bass fishing club to give students, that have a passion for bass fishing, a venue to practice and display their bass fishing skills. It's that time of year......the Karns High School Bass Fishing Club will hold its annual "Battle of the Hill 3.0" on Melton Hill, Sept. 23rd from safe light to 2:00. Launch and weigh in will be at the Carbide Park boat ramp. This year's tournament is proudly sponsored by the club's newest sponsor Two Men and a Truck. We are very fortunate to have such an awesome sponsor and look forward to many years of partnership.
May 6th-7th, the Next Generation High School Bass Series held its 2016-17 Championship on Lake Cherokee.
Your Karns High School Teams of Seth/Alisha Sutton and Mason Cizek/Josh Lee competed for a berth in the Cost Bassmaster High School National Tournament, that will be held on Lake Kentucky, June 22nd-24th.
Seth and Alisha managed a 2 day limit of bass weighing 12.38 pounds for a 17th place finish. Mason and Josh brought 18.83 pounds of Lake Cherokee bass to the scales, good enough for a 2nd place finish and a trip to the Nationals.
Both teams had a successful season, finishing in the top 25 out of 125 high school teams. They should be proud of their accomplishments.
Other news......the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series will hold its Classic, Saturday, May 13th, on Lake Douglas. With the weigh-in being held at the Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, TN. The top 25 high school teams will vie for a berth in the Costa Bassmaster High School National Tournament.
The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club's team of Mason Cizek and Josh Lee ended the year in 1st place and will compete Saturday. Good luck guys....
Mason Cizek and Josh Lee have accomplished an amazing feat. They have finished in 1st place (Anglers of the Year) in the point race for the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series. Competing against, almost 120 high school bass angling teams, this is truly an honor. Their consistancy through out the regular season has paid off. They will now vie for the ultimate goal in the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series....winning the Classic. Being held on Lake Douglas, May 13th, and the weigh-in at the Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, TN, winning the Classic will vault them into the State Championship and onward to the National Championship. We wish Mason and Josh well.....and CONGRATULATIONS.....
March 25th, the Next Generation High School Bass Series held its 4th tournament of the 2016-17 season, on Lake Cherokee. Sixty eight high school bass angling teams competed, of those 6 Karns High School Bass Fishing Club teams fished. All Karns teams caught and weighed in fish. A special thanks to all the boat captains for their dedication to the club. Without you, none of this could happen.
Our next tournament is the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series on Lake Cherokee. Launch and weigh-in will be at the Hwy 25 bridge boat ramp.
The Next Generation High School Series final regular season tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake. Launch and weigh-in will be at the Dr. Tom Fuller Park boat ramp. There will be a $40 entry fee (per boat) for this final tournament. Top finishers will recieve trophies and cash.

Saturday, March 18th, the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series held its 2nd tournament of the 2017 season. The day started out rainy, but, the rain lifted and the wind started to blow. 114 East Tennessee high school teams competed in this Tennessee High School record breaking event on Lake Ft. Loudoun. The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club team of Mason Cizek and Josh Lee weighed in a 5 bass limit, for a total of 13.23 pounds. Good enough for the 1st place trophies and the two $200 BPS gift cards. With this win, Mason and Josh have qualified for the Bass Pro Shop High School Tournament Series Classic, which will be held May 13th, on Lake Douglas. The weigh-in will be held at the Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, TN. Congratulations, once again, Mason and Josh on an awesome win.
Rain and temperatures in the 40's, greeted over 100 High School angling teams Saturday, Feb 18th at the 2017 Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series opening tournament on Lake Norris. The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club team of Mason Cizek and Josh Lee managed a 5 bass limit weighing 11.41 pounds. Good enough for 4th place. With their high finish, Mason and Josh are well on their way to accumulating enough points to fish the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series Classic, May 13th on Lake Douglas, with the weigh in at the Bass Pro Shops in Kodak. The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club's next tournament is the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament Series 2nd tournament on Lake Ft. Loudoun. The launch and weigh in will be at the Canal boat ramp.
Temeratures starting out in the upper 20s, light winds and cloudy skies greeted over 60 high school angling teams at the Next Generation High School Bass Series tournament on Lake Norris, Saturday. The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club had 6 teams participate. The team of Mason Cizek and Josh Lee managed to bring 5.33 lbs to the scales, good enough for 11th place. The team of Braden Wetzel and Tyler Loy brought 4.67 lbs of Norris largemouth to the scales, for a 14th place finish. Congratulations to both teams...
Feburary 18th marks the start of the Bass Pro Shops High School Bass Tournament Series. The tournament will be held on Lake Norris.
The Next Generation High School Bass Series held its first tournament of the year on Lake Chickamauga Saturday, Oct 22nd. Cold temps, gusty winds and a 106 field tournament met the Karns High School Bass Club anglers. A tough day on the lake for all anglers....but, Josh Lee and Mason Cizek managed to bring a 3 bass limit of 5.29 lbs to the scales....good enough for a 9th place finish....Seth and Alisha Sutton brought 4.75 lbs to the weigh-in for a 14th place finish.....congratulations to both teams.....
Our next tournament is the Next Generations High School Bass Series tournament on Lake Cherokee, November 5th. The pre-tournament meeting will be at Bucks & Bass in, Dandridge, TN, starting at 5:30 (remember....you get points for attending). The tournament will launch at the ramp, near the Cherokee dam (safe light) and the weigh-in will start at 3:00. GOOD LUCK.....
Congratulations to Alisha and Seth Sutton....Mason Cizek and Josh Lee for their 4th and 8th place finishes at the TN BASS Nation High School tournament on Lake Cherokee, Saturday, Oct 1st. 59 high school teams from East and South East Tennessee competed in the tournament. Both teams are now qualified for the TN BASS Nation High School State Championship....nice job...
The "Battle of the Hill 2.0" has been fought......it was a tough day on the Hill.....high skies and a full moon shut down the bite.....but, Mason Cizek and Josh Lee managed a 3 bass limit that weighed 5.04 pounds.... good for the 1st place plaques and the $140 jackpot.....Tyler Loy and Braden Wetzel brought a nice 4.62 pound largemouth to the scales for 2nd place and 1st place Big Bass. The majority of members caught fish, Saturday, but, were just shy of the 14" limit. After the weigh-in Seth Sutton won the pitching contest's award...a stainless steel mug, etched with the Karns High School Bass Fishing Club's logo....thanks to Laughing Rooster designs for supplying the plaques....mugs....and coozies....
The Next Generation High School Bass Series tournaments commence, Oct 22nd, on Chickamauga Lake....the mandatory pre-tournament meeting will take place, Friday, Oct 21st at 5:30pm...the meeting and launch/weigh-in will be at the Dayton Boat Dock.....see you there....
The Karns High School Bass Fishing Club will hold its annual "Battle of the Hill" tournament on Sept. 17th on Melton Hill Lake....the launch will be at the Carbide Park Boat ramp.....launch/pre-tournament meeting will be at first light.....weigh-in @ 2:00pm. Boat captains will be allowed to fish, however, their catch WILL NOT be allowed as part of the daily weight. Any/all local high school clubs are welcome to participate. 3 fish limit....

Congratulations to Mason Cizek and Josh Lee for winning the Next Generation High School Bass Series tournament on Lake Ft. Loudoun. Their 3 fish limit weighed 8.54 pounds....also, congratulations to Chris Chauncey and Caleb Fain. Their weight of 4.52 pounds was good enough for 11th place.

Also, congratulations to Jake Lee. Jake fished the Costa Bassmaster High School Open, on Lake Guntersville, Alabama. Jake and his partner, Ryan Winchester brought a 5 bass limit to the scales, weighing 24.8 pounds. Good enough to best the 322 boat field. This victory, will allow Jake and Ryan to, once again, fish the national championship.

Congratulations to Jake Lee and Hunter Messer for their 4th place finish at the Bass Pro Shops High School Tournament, on Lake Norris. Jake and Hunter brought a 3 fish limit of 9.46 pounds. It was a tough frustrating day, starting with a 3 hour fog delay. But, the Karns High School Bass Fishing Club members put together a good pattern and made a great finish. Again, congratulations Jake and Hunter.
HUGE news for the club......today, Bryson Elliott and Jake Lee, sighed with Bryan College's Bass Club. They will be Lions for the next 4 years. Congratulations.....Bryson and Jake....
