Coach Alexander Oliver has been coaching youth athletics for over 15 years at all age levels. His philosophy is “when nothing else is working, hard work works.” He has a strong emphasis on fundamentals which is the core of his approach to developing young players. He focuses on embracing the process of growth, which entails the need to focus on how to get better every day to succeed later.
In high school he played locally for the Bearden Bulldogs, received first team AAA All-State honors, and had his jersey retired. He went on to play Division 1 basketball at Alabama State University and won a SWAC Conference Championship in 2004 which led to a NCAA Tournament appearance.
Coach Oliver has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics. He currently resides in Hardin Valley with his beautiful wife Denise, son Kristian, and daughter Kate. “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” - Kobe Bryan
