• Advisory

The purpose of advisory is to provide a structure in which to facilitate relationships between each student and at least one staff member.  Ideally, the student will develop a relationship with the staff member during their first year in high school and maintain that relationship for their entire high school career.  The students will also develop healthy community relationships with their peers in their advisory period.  Additionally, Farragut HS will utilize the advisory period to intentionally teach and help develop life skills, leadership skills, and socio-emotional skills in an effort to build strong and emotionally healthy students.  In this effort, we will be using the curriculum from Habitudes from GrowingLeaders.com and Herff Jones’ Believe in You program.

You can also discuss your activity from week one and what you learned about your students.  Attached is the Habitudes Core Competencies handout if you wish to use this information.
