The ACT is a college entrance examination that is required by the State of Tennessee as a graduation requirement. Students at Halls High School will take the ACT in the Spring of their Junior year and retake the exam in the Fall of their Senior year. The SAT is an admission test accepted by all U.S. colleges, and the College Board has programs to encourage all students to take advantage of higher education. Income-eligible SAT takers receive college application fee waiversand all students can opt in to Student Search Service® to receive free information about admission and financial aid from colleges, universities, and scholarship programs.Register to take the SAT

PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
Scores from the PSAT/NMSQT are also used to identify candidates for the National Merit® Scholarship Program. Scores from the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are used to identify candidates for the National Hispanic Recognition Program and other programs.
The College Board has increased access to millions in combined annual awards for low-income and minority students through partnerships with scholarship providers, complementing our work with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to remove barriers to college and career success for students across the country.
Students who take the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT, and the PSAT 10 can opt in to Student Search Service® to make their names and information available to scholarship programs as well as colleges.
