  • Mr. Watson's CMS Weekly Update

    Good Afternoon Parents and Students,

This is your principal, Mr. Watson, and I hope you are staying dry this weekend.    We have had a little break or Sickation as I like to call it from school to hopefully get healthy.  We need all our kids back and ready to learn!

This week is Kindness Week at Carter Middle School.  Life might throw us different obstacles that we cannot always control, but we can always choose to be kind.

This Tuesday, February 13th there will be an informational meeting about playing boy’s middle school soccer.  The meeting is for parents and would be players who are interested in playing boy’s soccer.  The meeting will be held in the Cafeteria at 6 pm.

Wednesday, February 14th is Valentine’s Day and just a reminder that we do not accept flowers or gifts for students in the office.  If you have the urge to give a wonderful Valentine gift, then please wait until you get home.

Eighth grade students going on the trip to New York.  Your next payment of $125.00 is due this Thursday, February 15th.

This Thursday, February 15th we will have our first Parent Academy at Carter Middle School starting at 6pm.  We have arranged for an officer from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department to come and speak about Social Media and Internet Safety.  As parents we need to understand the dangers and safety concerns around our children using social media and the internet.  We will also have a session on using Parent Portal.  Parent Portal can be used to check grades and scheduling.  We will start at 6 pm and have two sessions of each topic of 45 minutes each.  I look forward to seeing you at Parent Academy this Thursday.

On Friday, February 16th we will have a Valentine’s Dance after school from 3:30pm to 5 pm in the Cafeteria.  The cost is $5 at the door.  Students will also need money for concessions.

This week is the last week for 8th grade students to bring in baby pictures for the year book.  This is also the last week to add names and icons to yearbook orders.

Have a great week and Go Hornets!

    Mr. Watson
