Excellence for Every Child
Good Afternoon Carter Middle School Families,
This is Mr. Watson, Principal of Carter Middle School, and I hope you have enjoyed your Fall Break.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence affects several families a year. It is estimated that 10 million Americans will be victims of domestic violence this year. This week Carter Middle School will be participating in the Pledge Purple Week. Students will have an opportunity to sign a banner making their pledge against violence and on Wednesday we are asking all students and staff to wear purple to show their support against domestic violence.
Please help us help victims of Hurricane Florence. Former CMS teacher Beth Waters currently teaches at Charles P. Murray Middle School in Wilmington, N.C. Many of her students have been hit hard and many have lost everything. BETA Club is currently taking monetary donations to purchase school supplies for these students and the school. Donations can be made through the school online payment system or sent in to Mrs. Manis or Mrs. Mays. You can also send school supplies that we will send to them. We will take donations through October 19th and then we will use the funds to purchase supplies and send to the students. Thank you for any help you can give as we show our Hornet Love to those in need.
On Thursday, October 18th we will be having our nine-week Report Card and Parent Night. We will be at Carter Middle School from 5 pm to 6 pm and then we will move to East Knox Elementary School from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
If you have not checked out our school website, then you need to do so. It has been updated and hopefully more user friendly. You will find all permission forms, a calendar of events, and general information on the homepage with easy links. You will also find the latest edition of the Carter Buzz on the website.
Thank you for your continued support of Carter Middle School. Go Hornets!
