Welcome Holston students and families! The HMS school counselors are excited for another great school year! We've missed our students over the summer and can't wait to see new faces. Look for us in your classrooms this Fall teaching lessons on academic and personal/social issues.
School counselors are committed to supporting the academic, career, and personal development of all students. The Holston Middle School counselors are involved in many aspects of student support including individual counseling, peer mediation, academic planning, career exploration, and various school activities such as coordinating school-wide standardized testing, student class scheduling, 5th/8th grade transition, Career Day, Job Shadow Day, and Project U.Holston school counselors follow the TN State BOE School Counseling Model and Standards Policy. Knox County has assisted counselors with the pacing of these standards, so they are consistent throughout the district. Click here to view the TN Counseling Standards and Policy.
