CARTER HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES
100 YEARS!!
1915-2015
Since its founding in 1915, Carter High School has been an evolving place for education in Knox County for 100 years. It is completely different from the simple house-like building and farmhouse that originated a century ago. Now the Carter School community has three separate schools, including the brand new Carter Elementary School that opened in 2014. Of course, the school building of Carter High is not the only thing that has seen change and growth throughout its 100 years. The faculty and student population have expanded immensely. The original faculty numbered around a dozen with less than 100 students. Today, with a new principal, Carter High School has over 900 students and 100 faculty members. As such, the high school has always been rich with history, with newly discovered images reaching as far back as 1926. Let these historic pictures take you on a tour back into the past generations of Carter High School.
