This essay contest is open to students ages 16-18. The essay should demonstrate a student’s awareness of concrete’s role as a building material in homes, commercial buildings, streets and highways. 1st place winner will receive $250. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2021 competition. Scholarships range from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis To apply for this scholarship go to the web page listed and download application.

Grades 5-12. If you have made a difference through volunteering, you could win $1000 and a trip to Washington D.C as a winner at the state level. Once you have completed the online application, go to the “Certification” page, print out the certification instructions and give them to Ms. Morris in the Counseling Office. Karns High School may certify two students to be considered for the state competition.
